Introduction:
The Panasonic NV-GS55EN is a ultra-compact "PAL" digital video camcorder that offers precise image quality and color accuracy. The superior quality of digital video results from higher horizontal resolution. Yields sharper picture detail and component color sampling, preserving more color information than analog.
A built-in PhotoShot digital still camera feature allows you to enjoy two ways to capture memories in a single, compact package: digital video and digital still photos. With more PC-friendly features than ever, such as MPEG4 Movie recording. Lets you record moving images that can be used on the internet or as e-mail attachments.
Key Features:
Soft Skin Mode: This feature detects skin tones and softens the focus in that area of the picture. It makes blemishes and lines appear less noticeable, while preserving the sharpness of other areas in the picture.
Easy Dial : The Easy to use Dial mode - makes easy to choose the desired operating mode by simply rotating the dial.
MPEG4 Movie Recording: With this feature, you can go ahead and share your favorite moments with family and friends. The high compression MPEG4 format lets you record moving images that can be used on the Internet or as email attachments.
Choose from three recording modes: SuperFine, Fine or Normal - depending on your needs. You can even record your movies to an SD memory card for added convenience.
i.Link (IEEE-1394) FireWire: Using the industry standard IEEE-1394 PC interface allows you to connect the digital camcorder to a compatible computer for advanced editing. You can also produce duplicate copies of your recordings without any loss in picture quality, with similarly equipped camcorders or VCRs.
MagicPix Images: This feature is a great way to record still images, even in low-light settings. Now you can capture still images in full color onto the camcorders mini DV tape.
MagicWire Remote Control: The wired remote control gives you the flexibility to shoot from almost any position. That means super easy low angle shots, high-angle shots, or even fixed position shots while using a tripod. It's ideal for left-handed users. And it's a great way to keep all of the essential functions - Record, Zoom and the PhotoShot built-in digital still camera - within reach at all times.
Progressive PhotoShot Mode: This feature helps to eliminate fuzziness by capturing the image data to SD Card of a singular moment and then temporarily storing the event in two separate field memories. The two images of the exact same moment are then combined, with no time lag, producing images that are better quality than standard recorded stills.
Cinema Mode: Enables you to record video in wide screen mode, giving you a 16:9 aspect ratio - the same as a movie screen. When played back on a television, the result is dramatic looking cinema-like movies at home.
Zoom Mic: As you zoom in on the picture, the audio will also zoom in so that you can pinpoint distant sound emanating from your subject.
Picture-in-Picture: Allows you to insert a previously taken digital still image into the video you're recording. The still image is taken using the PhotoShot feature and appears on the right side of the video you are recording. The video and miniaturized still shot then appear together during playback.
