The picture noise and black blocking that occur with insufficient gradation is suppressed even in scenes with intricate detail, fine textures and subtle expressions. Even the most detailed parts of an image are rendered with beautiful smoothness. Increased luminous efficiency achieves maximum contrast of 10,000:1. The ability to express rich, deep blacks is extremely important for displaying beautiful pictures. VIERA uses the Real Black Drive System to minimise pre-discharge emission and improve the expression of black colours. In addition, the Deep Black Filter for the front protective glass further enhances rendering abilities to deliver richer, deeper blacks.
